Just had to ask: as a) I'm also 51 b) I am Cancerian c) I miss living by the sea d) I'm into textiles e) I was brought up in Upminster and went to school in Hornchurch [but live nowhere near there now]
Have you always been in the area where you live now and I wonder if we knew each other in the past ?
Hi chrissy This is a lovely piece, it must have taken ages to do all that hand stitching. Is it a sample or will it turn into something else? Thanks for your comments on my last post, it's nice to know that people are interested in the procees of making a piece. I know what you mean about the degree not leaving much time for finished work. I have a friend who's doing it and she says the same thing, it's a bit soul destroying at times.
I am a textile artist living in the suburbs of London with my husband and daughter and numerous pets.
I have recently gained a BA (hons) in embroidered textiles to add to my other qualifications both in textiles and teaching. I am a Licentiate of the Society of Designer Craftsmen, Leader of the exhibiting group Material Girls and instigator and founder Chair of the Eastern Region Textile Forum.
My practice is led by my work with both fibres and thread. I am most likely to be found sewing in my studio or sketching/photographing and wishing I lived near the sea!
